Every day and night, hundreds of commercial transport trucks—you might know them as “semis”—crisscross the highways of B.C., transporting raw materials like logs and delivering finished goods like cars to businesses across the province. Keeping these huge rigs running safely and smoothly is the job of a Truck and Transport Mechanic.
Truck and Transport Mechanics spend their time on their backs or under the hood testing, fixing and maintaining highway trucks and buses. Many work indoors on busy shops floors, but if your specialty is fleet maintenance or emergency repair, there’s a good chance you’ll spend a lot of time outside.
