WHAT YOU DO

You know those bolts that hold the tires on your car? A Machinist made those. The robots that get sent to space and land on Mars? Made up of highly specialized parts produced by Machinists.

Machinists transform raw materials like metal, plastic and titanium into precision parts that—when carefully combined with other precision parts—power the machines that make nearly everything around us. As a Machinist, you’ll work on a machine shop or manufacturing plant floor with high-tech tools like drill presses, lathes, milling machines and grinders.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll be paired with a Red Seal Machinist on the job and learn first hand how to read and interpret blueprints and to perform precise machining operations based on project specifications. Attention to detail is key and your Sponsor will make sure you develop a keen eye for precision, calibration, and accuracy.
