WILLIAMS LAKE – ELEMENTARY-FOCUSED
These elementary students had a true hands-on experience as they completed several projects in each trade they encountered. This ambitious event brought industry participation in the form of extra funds, materials and personnel to assist in the day. Students were continuously touching, operating, handling and problem solving. Proper safety equipment, hair ties, hearing and eye protection were provided for all. Students completed various activities as they went from trade shop to trade shop at both a high school and TRU facilities. There was a true community and team atmosphere at this event, and students left the day with three completed projects:
- An extension cord they wired
- A boot scraper they welded from metal
- A wooden bird feeder, and some door prizes
